Lee Knight is a formally trained Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) who specialises in the field of forensic psychiatry.
Lee is currently employed as an Academic Program Director for the Mental Health Practice Program at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
Lee is also a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Mental Health at UNSW, teaching Criminal and Disordered Sexual Behaviour; and Mental Disorders, Personality Disorders and Crime on the Master of Forensic Mental Health Program. Lee is the convenor or co-convenor for all clinical courses on this program.
Lee was a Senior Consultant on a wellbeing project at the Black Dog Institute for 12-months in 2023. Lee was previously employed as the Clinical Coordinator of a large randomised control study, conducted by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) from 2013 to 2023.
Lee is a Board Director and Chair of the Clinical Governance and Operations Committee for the Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation (AKKF) a charity providing mental health literacy for children who live with a family member with mental illness. Lee was the Chair of the Australian Association for Primary Mental Health Nurses (AAPMHN).
Lee has specialist qualifications in both mental health and forensic mental health, holding a Master of Nursing (Clinical Practice) - Majoring in Mental Health and a Master of Forensic Mental Health.
Additionally Lee has completed specialist training as an accredited person, as per the Mental Health Act 2007. Whilst being an accredited person is attached to a NSW Health role, this training has provided Lee with a deep understanding of mental health legislation.
Lee is a clinical member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) and the Australia and New Zealand Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abuse (ANZATSA). Lee received clinical accreditation for the treatment of adults who sexually offend from the NSW Child Sex Offender Counsellor Accreditation Scheme (CSOCAS), however this scheme is currently under review and is not currently accepting new or renewed applications.
Lee has over around 20 years’ experience writing comprehensive psychiatric reports for both local and district courts, with much of this experience gained whilst working for the Statewide Community and Court Liaison Service of Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network. Lee currently provides these reports to both Legal Aid and private law firms.
Lee has excellent contacts within both the legal and medical fields and is equipped to ensure that clients receive the most effective and timely mental health care and, where required, legal advice from industry professionals. Lee has excellent working relationships with both public and private mental health providers, allowing for quick referrals for ongoing treatment with shorter waiting times. Lee has expert knowledge in unusual psychiatric conditions and less frequently utilised diversion options under the mental health legislation.
Lee provides treatment and management for clients with both general mental health issues as well as complicated, unusual or forensic mental health needs. Services include, anger, aggression, risk assessment/management, comprehensive assessment, sexual offenders and others. Lee uses a combination of psychological therapies, tailored to the individuals needs, and will liaise with GPs and psychiatrists to provide an opinion and support on medications if clinically indicated. Crosbi Knight

Crosbi is a Registered Psychologist currently completing an area of endorsement program in Clinical Psychology. Crosbi also holds qualifications in Forensic Mental Health. She has experience working across the lifespan and is passionate about helping people improve their psychological health and well-being.
Prior to working as a psychologist, Crosbi has over 15 years experience in frontline and senior management roles in the public sector working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a range of life challenges such as abuse, neglect, offending behaviour, mental illness, and substance use. Crosbi has experience working in hospital inpatient units and custodial settings.
Crosbi uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in her work, based on what best suits the individual and their goals. Crosbi frequently utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and trauma-informed approaches. Crosbi believes that the relationship between the therapist and client is the most important aspect of effective treatment.

Laurence Halloran, RN(MH), CCBT, CMHN
Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health)
Availability: Laurence provides in-person and virtual sessions:
Fridays: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Laurence is a clinical nurse consultant who specialises in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions. Laurence has significant experience in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults. He has a long history of working in both general mental health and the subspecialty of forensic mental health.
Now working as a cognitive behavioural therapist, Laurence has many years experience in the public frontline mental health system, including roles in senior management both in the public and private mental health sector.
Laurence is passionate about providing high quality assessments and treatment for all mental health conditions. He has a particular interest in assisting patients with histories of abuse, neglect, offending behaviour, mental illness and substance use.
Laurence uses a variety of therapeutic approaches, dependent on the individuals need, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and solution focussed brief therapy (SFBT).
Laurence is an credentialed mental health nurse (CMHN) and is available for the assessment and treatment of most mental health issues.
Caroline Smith
Practice Manager
Availability: Caroline has been appointed to the newly created position of Practice Manager, which is reflective of her professionalism, attention to detail and high-level organsiational skills. In addition to managing all operational aspects of the practice, Caroline provides phone and email reception services Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm and is available in person at the Depsypher Rooms on Mondays and Thursdays from 4pm to 8pm and some Fridays between 9am-3pm.
Caroline has over 11 years’ experience working within education and public service across Australia and the UK, building up a wealth of knowledge and skills across education, well-being and administration.
Caroline has specialised experience in supporting children and young adults living with mental illness through various educational programs as well as within specialised mental health units, helping to reintegrate young people back into educational and community settings.
Prior to commencing the role with Depsypher Mental Health Services, Caroline supported the administration development, planning and delivery of educational programs within a hospital school, working with patients and families across multiple hospital departments, who were experiencing a range of life and health challenges.
Caroline holds an Access to Higher Education in Health Sciences qualification as well as a Diploma for Supporting the Children and Young people’s workforce. She has also completed training in supporting individuals with general and complex mental health issues from childhood to young adults.
Maisie is our therapy dog. She has quite the personality and is still in training. Despite still being in training, Maisie has mastered some of the skills she needs to thrive in her role as a therapy dog, so please let us know if you would like Maisie in your session and we will try and arrange for her to be there.
Maisie's training has been extended as she is still a little over-the-top when meeting new people. Her time in the clinic will recommence shortly.
